The Team

Keith Martin

(BSc Applied Biology, MSc Chiropractic)

Being born and brought up in Northern Ireland my goal as a chiropractor  is to empower and educate the  people of my area with an understanding of how the human body functions so that wise decisions can be made about one’s own health and well-being.

My Journey started out in Bristol while I was working as a medical representative for Jansen-Cilag. I had long been disillusioned by the pharmaceutical industry and knew my destiny was not to be found there. I was fortunate to be  referred to a chiropractor following a rugby injury to my shoulder. That was the day my life changed and I knew I had found my calling. Through the support of family and friends I gained a MSc in Chiropractic from Maquarie Unversity in Sydney, Australia in 1999. After 6 years of working between Ireland and Australia as a locum practitioner I returned to Belfast and set up Avalon. People often ask me why Avalon? The simple answer is that it was my favourite beach in Sydney and one afternoon while enjoying the sunshine and waves I just thought “Avalon Chiropractic” will be where I work!

Outside of work I am the father of two young children who are growing up way too quick. Along with my partner, Jenny we enjoy living in the countryside and are surrounded by a managerie of animals that keeps us busy! I am still playing cricket for Donaghcloney every week during the summer which keeps me connected to the village I grew up in as a kid. I am constantly amazed at how the human body functions and have an innate willingness to constantly try and understand more.

Tracey Biggerstaff

My name is Tracey Biggerstaff, Practice Manager at Avalon.  I have been working in chiropractic since 2001 and have seen the many benefits chiropractic has on patient’s lives.  I am the first point of contact and my aim is to make patients feel welcome and at ease when they enter the practice so please don’t hesitate to ask any questions. I also want to ensure everyone leaves our office with a better understanding of how chiropractic can help with not only pain but how it impacts the nervous system and help improve the overall function of bodies.

In may spare time I enjoy going to the gym, running and Netflix!
