The Team

Keith Martin

(BSc Applied Biology, MSc Chiropractic)

Being born and brought up in Northern Ireland my goal as a chiropractor  is to empower and educate the  people of my area with an understanding of how the human body functions so that wise decisions can be made about one’s own health and well-being.

My Journey started out in Bristol while I was working as a medical representative for Jansen-Cilag. I had long been disillusioned by the pharmaceutical industry and knew my destiny was not to be found there. I was fortunate to be  referred to a chiropractor following a rugby injury to my shoulder. That was the day my life changed and I knew I had found my calling. Through the support of family and friends I gained a MSc in Chiropractic from Maquarie Unversity in Sydney, Australia in 1999. After 6 years of working between Ireland and Australia as a locum practitioner I returned to Belfast and set up Avalon. People often ask me why Avalon? The simple answer is that it was my favourite beach in Sydney and one afternoon while enjoying the sunshine and waves I just thought “Avalon Chiropractic” will be where I work!

Outside of work I continue to enjoy watching rugby of all standards and I am still playing cricket for Donaghcloney every week during the summer. I love animals of all kinds and strive to live as healthy a lifestyle I can.

Tracey Biggerstaff

My name is Tracey Biggerstaff, Practice Manager at Avalon.  I have been working in chiropractic since 2001 and have seen the many benefits chiropractic has on patient’s lives.  I am the first point of contact and my aim is to make patients feel welcome and at ease when they enter the practice. I also want to ensure everyone leaves the clinic with a better understanding of how chiropractic can help with not only pain but how it impacts the nervous system.  I myself get adjusted each month which keeps my nervous system healthy, allowing me to enjoy the gym and keep running.
